Event Location
Federal Correctional Institution Fairton, New Jersey

In May 2025, as part of the Prison Math Project, Temple faculty and graduate students made math presentations to the inmates at the Federal Correctional Institution Fairton, New Jersey.

We talked about modulus mathematics, and about how a theorem reflects the truth: Once it is proven, it is definitely true (with examples).

The talks were so well received that we were invited to plan to come back a few times a year for similar events.

This activity fits well within the goals of the Prison Math Project, which support the study of mathematics and its contribution to healthy self-identity and desistance from crime among the participants.
